John obtained a Bachelor of Jurisprudence in 1968 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1970 at Monash University. He is one of the founding partners of Perry Weston Lawyers, which commenced in 1987. He was admitted to practice in 1970.
John has many years of experience in the areas of:
- preparation of Wills and Testamentary Trusts, Powers of Attorney and Guardianship
- estate matters including probate and letters of administration, and contested wills litigation
- property law, including conveyancing, leases, mortgages, reverse and Homesafe mortgages
- commercial matters including sales and purchases of business, retail and commercial leasing
- debt recovery
John has a wealth of experience in commercial leasing and sales and purchases of business, involving both preparation and advice in relation to lease, sale and purchase documents. John also has a very strong and established practice in the preparation of both straightforward and more complex wills, as well as all aspects of wills and estates litigation including contested wills.
John has close ties with the community, holding the position of Honorary Solicitor with a number of charitable and non-profit associations and sporting clubs in the Whitehorse and Dandenong Ranges areas. He is a longstanding member of the Whitehorse Business Group and for the past ten years has been Treasurer of the Eastern Suburbs Law Association.
